Heavy duty bungee cord stretches from the tent and attaches to the vehicle’s frame by means of a heavy duty plastic coil hook. 

To shorten the bungee cord, simply determine the proper length for your vehicle, then tie a knot in the bungee cord at the coil hook.

SUV’s and Minivan openings are designed to route any outside water “around” the rear opening and onto the ground. Rainwater is not a problem for trucks with high-back camper shells. Trucks with flat-back camper shells can be parked so rainwater runs away from the rear opening, or chocks can be placed under the rear tires to slightly raise the rear of the vehicle.

A lot of fun. Expands the flexibility of an already awesome mini-van, by making it a camper. Easy in and out and dry as a bone. No need even for seam sealer, as the seams are already well sealed. I used it in a torrential downpour, not one drop got into the van.

I had one for my Ford F150 and now I bought this mid-sized one for my new Ford Ranger. It makes camping in a camper shell much more comfortable. I am 6’3″ tall so a standard short bed is a bit cramped to sleep in. This tent extends the length of the truck bed because it is set-up with the tailgate down. The screen allows for ventilation without the bugs. When it gets cold simply zip up the canvas fly. I used my old one heavily for 10 years without an issue. For around a $100 this is a true bargain. Also, I can’t tell you how many times people have admired it in campgrounds and KOA’s. I breeze in and out of places with ease. Sometimes the RV crowd are a bit envious.

A pleasure to set up in 5 min – expands ventilation – keeps out bugs. Don’t like the flimsy stick poles that are supposed to hold the back window of the cap up – use instead a section of Alm pipe or a dowel and a shock cord,I also use additional padding – just pc of carpet at the corners of the gate and windows — but I love it !

Vehicle Tents DAC Mid – Size Truck Tent

My husband and I use this on our Mazda 5 for quick camping getaways instead of having to struggle to set up a tent for just a couple of nights. We are so spoiled now. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up. Other campers look on with jealousy as we get to begin enjoying the great outdoors within minutes of arriving at camp. It is such as easy setup and take down process that having to put it up and down every time you leave camp is not a big deal it is still a big-time and headache saver in the long run.

Great alternative to setting up a regular tent when we’re only stopping for one night on the road. Set up very quickly. Gave us a bit more room than in just the pick-up bed, and bug-free air circulation was a plus in south Georgia in June (which is not the most comfortable place to camp due to bugs and humidity 🙂

Vehicle Tents DAC Mid – Size Truck Tent

Purchased one a few weeks ago and used it over the last weekend. Easy to set up, done in about 5 mins. Good to very good fit on my truck and cap. Corners where truck cap contacts tent seem to be well reinforces. Bungies are adequate for the job. Tent functions well and did a good job in a short but intense rain storm. Couple of things I’d like to see still to bring this to a “5 STARS” – The bottom does not entirely close off around the lowered tailgate, some gap is still present. While this doesn’t leap out as a deal breaker it doesn’t make the tent entirely bug proof. This may be fixable by the user by shortening the supplied bungie but will take some playing around to determine. Another item I’d like to see is the option for an awning, something in the 5 – 6 foot range would be a nice addition and allow entry and exit from the tent without having water leakage to the interior during a storm when getting in or out of the tent. It would also be a nice place to shed rain gear, boots, and other equipment, sit out in the shade on a hot sunny day, etc. Way too useful an option not to have.
