Truck Tents ~ Minivan Tents ~ SUV Tents

Testimonials

For sport utility vehicles and minivans with a rear liftgate, these vehicle tents add a few more feet of enclosed space for a comfortable night's sleep. Bungy cords attach to your vehicle's underframe and shock cords draw the tent snug against your vehicle. The outer door panels fold up and tie back for maximum ventilation, or zip and tie at the bottom corners for privacy.

I just used this on a weekend camping trip. The cap i have on my truck is higher than the cab...gives me extra room for camping, cargo, etc. So when i open the window part of my cap its pretty high and the tent doors aren't long enough to reach the tall gate and there is a big gap between the tent and the tail gate. So i have to bungee cord the window part of my cap so it doesn't open all the way so the tent can wrap under the tail gate like its supposed to, then when you get in you have trouble bumping your head on the cap door because its so low. I only have an F-150 and i bought the large model and its not big enough. I might try to sew on more tent fabric so it fits my truck better.

Purchased one a few weeks ago and used it over the last weekend. Easy to set up, done in about 5 mins. Good to very good fit on my truck and cap. Corners where truck cap contacts tent seem to be well reinforces. Bungies are adequate for the job. Tent functions well and did a good job in a short but intense rain storm. Couple of things I'd like to see still to bring this to a "5 STARS" - The bottom does not entirely close off around the lowered tailgate, some gap is still present. While this doesn't leap out as a deal breaker it doesn't make the tent entirely bug proof. This may be fixable by the user by shortening the supplied bungie but will take some playing around to determine. Another item I'd like to see is the option for an awning, something in the 5 - 6 foot range would be a nice addition and allow entry and exit from the tent without having water leakage to the interior during a storm when getting in or out of the tent. It would also be a nice place to shed rain gear, boots, and other equipment, sit out in the shade on a hot sunny day, etc. Way too useful an option not to have.

Granted we were trying to set this up after dark with headlights from another car, but the one downside to this tent is that we found the directions a bit vague and thus it took us a while to set up. That aside, my husband and I slept very comfortably in the back of our highlander with this tent and I would highly recommend it! No bug bites or stuffiness in the morning like we would have had from sleeping in a tent in the ground! Definitely our new favorite way to camp!!!

A lot of fun. Expands the flexibility of an already awesome mini-van, by making it a camper. Easy in and out and dry as a bone. No need even for seam sealer, as the seams are already well sealed. I used it in torrential downpour, not one drop go into the van.

My husband and I use this on our Mazda 5 for quick camping getaways instead of having to struggle to setup a tent for just a couple of nights. We are so spoiled now. It only takes a couple of minutes to setup. Other campers look on with jealousy as we get to begin enjoying the great outdoors within minutes of arriving at camp. It is such as easy setup and take down process that having to put it up and down every time you leave camp is not a big deal it is still a big time and headache saver in the long run.

This is so easy to use and subsequently store! I wonder how I did so long without this van tent for so many years. My mother has bought one as well now, so we can go camping together.

A pleasure to set up in 5 min - expands ventilation - keeps out bugs. Don't like the flimsy stick poles that are supposed to hold the back window of the cap up - use instead a section of Alm pipe or a dowel and a shock cord,I also use additional padding - just pc of carpet at the corners of the gate and windows -- but I love it !

I can see how this product is only for a small percentage of people. Not many people turn their truck into a living space, but, if you have a truck, with a cap, and you plan on sleeping in the back... this is a must! sets up in seconds, and dramatically helps with entering/exiting, keeping good airflow, and most importantly, almost eliminates any and all claustrophobic feelings you may have with sleeping in a truck bed!

Great alternative to setting up a regular tent when we're only stopping for one night on the road. Set up very quickly. Gave us a bit more room than in just the pick-up bed, and bug-free air circulation was a plus in south Georgia in June (which is not the most comfortable place to camp due to bugs and humidity 🙂

This is my 2nd DAC truck tent. I had one for my Ford F150 and now I bought this mid-sized one for my new Ford Ranger. It makes camping in a camper shell much more comfortable. I am 6'3" tall so a standard short bed is a bit cramped to sleep in. This tent extends the length of the truck bed because it is set-up with the tailgate down. The screen allows for ventilation without the bugs. When it gets cold simply zip up the canvas fly. I used my old one heavily for 10 years without an issue. For around a $100 this is a true bargain. Also, I can't tell you how many times people have admired it in campgrounds and KOA's. I breeze in and out of places with ease. Sometimes the RV crowd are a bit envious.
